Dear President, June 15, 2010
HUMBLE CLEMENCY PLEA FOR THE TWO NORWEGIANS
I am delighted and honored to write to you, as one who has great and immense admiration and respect for you for the way and manner that you have administered and led your vast, rich and great country since you took on the mantle of leadership from your great father of blessed memory.
With the utmost respect and humility, I am pleading with you as the President and Father of the nation of the D.R. Congo, to spare the lives of the two Norwegian men who have been condemned to death for murder and espionage.
Your Excellency, without in any way impugning the integrity of your courts, I am with much respect requesting you to temper Justice with Mercy. And decades to come you will be remembered and honored for this single humanitarian act.
During the historic struggles against Colonialism and Apartheid, the Scandinavian countries, including Norway, gave immense help and assistance in various forms to the Africans in their dire struggles, and many Africans remember this noble act of theirs with lasting and great gratitude.
Mr. President, my family and I pray and hope that God continues to bless you to lead your great country forward and become a model for other African countries.
Long live President Joseph Kabila! Long live the Democratic Republic of the Congo! Long live African Unity!
Your humble servant
