Do you want to help get the boys back to Norway?
Congolese authorities have a condition that the two Norwegians have to pay a settlement to the widow and her family before they can come home. On Friday September 10th Rune Edvardsen made a deal between the inflicted parties. He things it will cost around 100 000 dollars.
There is an uncertainty when it comes to the settlement to the other parties involved, but the deal with the widow is the most important. This collection is first and foremost to cover the settlement to the widow and her family. If there is anything left, it will be used to cover the other settlements that may occur. And if there is anything left after this it will be divided between the Dina-Foundation and the Seaman’s Church.
Most of the settlement will for the most part be used to buy two houses, one for the widow and her child with her late husband Kasongo, and one for his five children from a previous marriage and close family of the driver. In addition the settlement also includes money to start a family business, some money to her attorney and other expenses like furniture to the house etc.
There are a lot of people who’ve contacted us, and want to donate money to this cause. We appreciate this very much. We will do the same thing we’ve done with the “Inmate to Inmate” account. We will update the website with how much is coming into the account so you can follow the collection.
If the purpose of this support account for some reason isn’t going to be used at first, the money will stay in the account to a new settlement agreement is made and go to the same purpose as written above, mainly to the widow and her family. This support account is a high-interest account in Vegaarshei Savings Bank.
