Tomorrow, on February 28th Tjostolv turns 30. He spends his birthday in the same captivity as when he turned 29. Nobody knows how long they have to be there.
A lot has been promised regarding the transfer to Kinshasa and then to Norway. No promises have been kept. Nothing has happened for the boys. Nothing at all.
I watched Tjostolv when he was born 30 years ago. He was a feisty fellow. You wonder at a time like that: wonder what his life would be like. I didn’t in my wildest imagination think that anything like this would happen.
We have to believe that it will end eventually. We know that the Foreign Ministry has high priority on this case at the moment. But the days, weeks and months go by. There is a setback every time it seems like a solution is possible. There has to be someone who stops the process. We don’t know who and why. It’s difficult to believe anything at all.
The nightmare has to end sometime!
