Agderposten, a local newspaper had a large article and an interview with Tjostolv on October 1st. On the cover he says that his sickness was made into a reality show. He goes on by saying that the worse experiences down there was in this period. Agderposten has interviewed several people about this including Secretary General in Norway’s Press Association Per Edgar Kokkvold, who states in the end: “if this is the worse Tjostolv Moland has experienced in Congo it can’t be so bad there as we’ve been led to believe.” This must be an all time high in lack of insight in one of Norway’s largest Press stories, and a total lack of understanding of what’s been going on and total lack of empathy.
Tjostolv was deadly sick of malaria that got to his brain. He was abused, wrongly medicated, subjected to chemical torture and beaten. Dragged into a courtroom in a deep psychotic state, and shown on live TV for the entire Norwegian public. This is not so bad according to Kokkvold! There have been a number of violations from the tabloid press who were down there. Some of them have been handled by Kokkvold but everything has been fine as far as I know. Can really Norway’s Press Association be run by such a general?
