The news on September 9th 2010

On the news tonight we heard that the Lottery and Foundation Authority will start an investigation against Rune Edvardsen and his Dina-Foundation. The money that comes in to the Dina-Foundation is meant to help raped women and children in Congo.

TV2 reports today that money from this foundation can also have been used to help the prison conditions for the two Norwegians who are in prison in Kisangani. That must mean that the 200 dollars the widow gets from the Dina-Foundation has calmed the family so the situation is safer for the boys. (this is how I understand it) Last May Edvardsen took a trip to Kisangani; he was going to Congo anyway for other reasons. Then our family read in the media that he arranged for a monthly support to the widow. Edvardsen did this without consulting our family first. I don’t know if he consulted other people about this initiative that he as far as I know made all on his own. I personally have been glad that the widow got a regular monthly income. She was placed in a very difficult situation when her husband was killed. But this initiative has also created problems. In the third court case held in Kisangani, the widow said that Edvardsen gave her this money every month because he knew that the two Norwegians were guilty of the murder. Edvardsen himself has stated several times that he knows that the two are not guilty.

All of our readers need to know that the money that has come in to the support account have been used to what it’s meant for. When it comes to the “Inmate to Inmate” account, the money there is earmarked for the boys’ inmates/prisoners in Congo. I expect that the Dina-Foundation has complete control over this account. Under the headline “Inmate to Inmate” you can read more about the help the Norwegians’ inmate has received. The prisoners in Osio-prison have received help as well.
