Mysterious hotels and other news

E-mail Print PDF

I haven’t read Morten Strøksnes’ book yet, so I will not comment on it. But when it comes to hotels Norwegians has stayed at in Kisangani, whether they’ve been journalists, lawyers, seaman’s priests or others there are three hotels to choose from in Kisangani. It’s Riviera, Palm Beach and Le Chalet or something like that.

Hotel Riviera is a decent hotel. Palm Beach is closer to the UN-area, and can for that reason provide more security. I don’t know anything about the last hotel. As I was saying there are not many hotels to choose from in Kisangani, so that the boys checked into Riviera is hardly worldwide news. If they’d checked into Palm Beach, closer to the UN-forces area, (and I think they use Palm Beach a lot as well) they would’ve come up with a mysterious reason for that as well. Not to mention the third hotel – that would’ve been very mysterious.

Other news:

Seaman’s priest Knut Lyngseth who was supposed to be arriving in Kisangani today got held back in Kinshasa. But he hopes to be there tomorrow. The British vice consul, who was supposed to visit the boys tomorrow, isn’t going to Kisangani until next Monday.

Lawyer Furuholmen has a meeting with the Foreign Ministry on Thursday.
