The corrupt judge and stinky feet against malaria

E-mail Print PDF

It happened as Joshua predicted: one of the judges who sentenced Joshua and Tjostolv to death were recently placed into the prison himself. As far as we’ve managed to find out he helped a man who had raped a young girl escape from prison/custody. The abusers family paid the judge money to arrange this. The judge is a major in the police. The victim’s family heard of this and demanded the money or they would report this major. So he ended up in the Central Prison.

Joshua said that he would probably get out fast if he had money and could bribe his way out. After about a week Joshua watched this judge in full uniform on his way out of the prison. He is apparently back in his old job. This shows how corruption rules the community in Congo. No one seems to care about the victim, the poor girl.

Otherwise I’ve read about an interesting remedy against malaria. Research shows that sweaty feet is very attractive for the malaria mosquito and can deflect them from areas you want to avoid. Maybe we should send a truckload of smelly socks to the central prison to fight malaria?? Then it will be fewer malaria patients for Joshua to treat!!

Keep enjoying your summer!
