A new case in Kisangani is just pointless, the same nonsense once again. They are not capable to arrange even close to a fair trial there. They have proved that twice already. Even if they dig up the corpse, and everything points to their innocence it won’t make a difference.
I see that Bøås (a Norwegian Congo-expert) states that the case is forgotten in Congo and even in Kisangani. I think he is right about that. It has probably been any number of murders after this case. For the government on the other hand, this situation is still a problem. We have to believe in a solution eventually.
VG had a good article on Easter Eve. It was particularly interesting to get a description of their days’ routine. The warden of the prison also had something interesting to say. Especially that they call from Kinshasa (capitol city) every day to update themselves on the boys’ condition. It’s also nice to know that the conditions of the other prisoners have improved from the boys being there. That they get food in every day, and that the boys help them with treatment and medications. Before November there were 2 deaths a month in average, against none after. It’s clear that a lack of food and untreated infections etc are taking lives. The fact that the boys got rid of it, they have saved many lives already. That’s good. We just have to wait and see when this case will end.
