Lawyer Alauwa is dissatisfied with the deal with the widow, and claims it’s not valid. I don’t know much about African law, but one thing I do know is that money can be negotiated. If not, no one will ever get any money in Africa, because every amount is with view of negotiation. But of course Alauwa is disappointed.
He has believed or hoped that the Norwegian state would pay. Of course they won’t. Congo has of course never paid a single dollar for Congolese people in foreign prisons. Alauwa should buy a book about international law! He could learn a lot from that. No national court can convict a state for instance.But of course he is disappointed. He had an agreement of 25% of 27 million dollars, that’s about 6 500 000 dollars. If he got that he would probably be one of the richest men in Congo. He has probably fantasized about a big house and fancy cars, this guy.
But no one should say that he’s unreasonable. He’s willing to receive the money in installments! Unfortunately Alauwa’s understanding of the world is in poor shape. He obviously thinks that Europe is wading in money. Maybe it’s time he got internet and started orientating himself some about the world! He fails in math. He wants the money in installments. If the boys get jobs, and live like ascetics, then maybe they can save 16 500 dollars each every year. Then it will take 810 years to pay 27 million dollars. Maybe the last installments will take a while!
Pooooor Alauwa, who wanted so bad to be a multi millionaire and will only get crumbs. No Rolls Royce, only a moped or a bicycle. It’s hard times!
