Foreign Minister Støre has had a new meeting with Congo’s Foreign Minister at the UN summit in New York. He promises a speedy transfer to Kinshasa as far as I can understand.
Støre also had a meeting with him in New York last year. I understood the same then, but nothing happened. Now, the Foreign Minister claims that the “attempted escape” has delayed the process! Yes, that was some escape attempt! Of course it’s just nonsense and gibberish. Both the “attempted escape” and the “delayed process”. What kind of process has it really been? None at all as far as I can see. How complicated can it be to transfer 2 men from one prison to another. It’s done all the time in other countries.
Of course Støre can’t do anything but refer to what the Foreign Minister in Congo said after a conversation like this. Of course it’s better with a promise than nothing, we can only hope something will happen, but it’s not easy to be positive after all the broken promises we’ve heard. We’ve wondered if the delay is because of lack of money for airfare etc. but according to the Foreign Ministry that’s not the case. Most likely it’s someone who’s hoping for money in their own pockets. Even though they’re not going to get it all hope is out if they’re leaving. That’s the delay in my opinion.
The papers write almost consequently “the convicted murderers”. That’s right if you can call the nonsense and gibberish in Kisangani for trials. But what’s not written is the fact that THEY’RE ALSO SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR ESPIONAGE IN FAVOR OF NORWAY. They were sent out by HM King Harald, and as members of the secret organization HM King’s Guard. That’s what makes this case unique in Norwegian context and different from other cases where Norwegians are arrested abroad.
Dear reporters, try to get this! It’s a unique situation in Norwegian post-war history that Norwegians are sentenced to death for espionage in favor of Norway. Read the verdicts! They’re posted here on freefrenchandmoland.com.
Since hardly anyone in Norway believe that they are spies there has to be doubt about the verdicts for murder. The evidence was at the same level!
Nonsense from every angle!
If something happens soon, which we’re hoping, maybe we can get further. If nothing happens now either, which is to fear, more diplomatic pressure is needed.
As far as I know several hundred million of the rain forest fund is going to Congo. We could say that we don’t negotiate this before this case is solved. How can a nation negotiate and donate large contributions to another nation who holds ones citizens convicted of espionage? It’s not logic, and it’s not proper in any way.
Now, we have to wait and see if anything happens as I’ve said. If not the Congolese have to understand that it will cost them to continue this charade they’ve been doing for so long. That’s the only language they understand. I’m not a diplomat, but this I know about diplomacy. Negotiating is about giving and taking just like any other negotiation whatever it’s about.
This is really a small matter compared to the big issues, like the conflict in the Middle East. I have faith in our Foreign Minister and ambassadors can solve this case soon. To put it like this: if we can’t solve a small matter like this, where we give the nation we’re in negotiation with hundreds of millions every year, what hope do we have of solving the big issues in the world?
