- As far as I know it’s the first time since the 2nd World War that Norwegians are sentenced to death (I understand that there could be one exception)
- No Norwegians have been sentenced to death for espionage in favour of Norway since the war.
- It has never happened that a state has made such outraged money claims from Norway.
- It’s never happened that Norwegians have been convicted on such failing terms, and by such a badly qualified tribunal.
- The treatment of the prisoners is so blameworthy that the prisoners have been very sick. One of them developed a psychosis.
- This whole case is about money. The claims are enormous and not realistic at all.
These conditions and a lot more have contributed to a lot of attention from the Norwegian press, and it may become the biggest news story Norwegian media has ever seen.
